Picture day is a day that all children are a little anxious about. Whether it is a school picture or a team picture, your children want to look their best. One often ignored part of looking their best is their teeth. Many times, their smile is not even considered. So what can you do to improve your children’s smile to make these pictures the best ever?
Tips for Teeth on Picture Day
If you know in advance when picture day is, treat your older children to a professional teeth whitening at your dentist. A visit to your dentist can give you a quick whitening treatment in the office or you can get an in-home whitening kit if that is more convenient. If your child drinks things like tea, coffee, or soda, this is especially helpful because these drinks can stain your teeth. You will have to allow about two weeks before picture day for the complete treatment.
For younger children or if you can’t get to the dentist, you can always rely on teeth whitening toothpastes. Though not as good as a dental treatment, they can help to whiten your teeth, especially if you brush just before your picture is to be taken. On picture day, bring your toothpaste and your toothbrush and ask to go to the bathroom before your turn comes up. Brush well and enjoy the results; and don’t forget to floss, especially if the picture is taken after lunch.
