You know that going to the dentist is important to your oral health, but you have to take time out of your already busy schedule to do so. And, if your dentist is running behind, you wind up spending more time there than you planned, which can throw off the rest of your day.
If you have other appointments scheduled, or need to be somewhere else at a specific time, suddenly you're finding yourself in a rush to get there, or you arrive late, which adds unnecessary stress to your day. However, scheduling your dentist appointment at the right time can make all the difference, and get you back to your already full day in no time.
First Thing in the Morning
If you can, try to schedule your appointment to be the very first one of the day. This way, you don't have to worry about someone else's appointment, or worse, several appointments, before yours running late. By being the first one on the list, you can be in right on time.
Right After Lunch
Most dental offices close for a midday break. If you can't schedule an appointment first thing in the morning, try to be the first one right after everyone gets back from lunch. You may not want to take the time from work to do so, but if you wait until after work, you are more likely to run into slowdowns, as many others have made the same decision.
If your dentist's office is open on Saturdays, make an appointment then. And again, aim for early in the morning. Most others aren't going to give up a weekend day to sit in a dentist's office, so you are more likely to get in and out without too much extra wait time.
Your time is precious, but your oral health is important. By planning strategically, you can get to this important visit and back to your day with little hassle.
